USB mediator spider II clone
Hey guys,
Im having a small problem that my spider ii clone will not show icon whenever I put in a USB key. Everything works except it wont show the icon on workbench screen. I tried diffent types of USB keys and everytime I can see the name of it, type etc via Trident. Just no icon. I hope one of you might know what im missing, as I had it running 100% a few days ago. Had to do a full reinstall of os3.9 due to ramlib errors but that's another story.  To info I use spider.device 3.22 (<--always did-->) Poseidon 4.4. fat95 also installed. pciinfo shows everything correctly with vendor names and such. Hope you can help, regards DK |

Disk.info
Have you stored a disk icon file in the form of a disk.info, or set a def_USB.info for it in ENV:SYS ?

No but I found out if i plug 2 Keys in an icon appears for the first plugged USB only. Its Strange.

Do you have the device hidden in the Workbench prefs (if you're using OS3.5/3.9)? Loading the second drive might change things regarding the device names - perhaps with USB0: hidden it does something funny.
Alternatively, are there any other volumes mounted with the same name as one of the keys? It should still show up but maybe Poseidon's getting confused? |

I found out why it behave like it did. I had a file named USMD in DOSDriver, i simply removed this and now it Works. Its odd as if you open this file it calls on fat95 filesystem and usbscsi.device.
Anyway it works now. Thanks for all the tips. |
