A hard disk useful or not?

Hi,
Is it possible and useful to set up a hard drive in AmigaForever? Or is it a bit pointless because you can access files in a shared folder? I mean can you install a large program to a hard drive while you can't do that with a shared folder?

Regards Steve

I find it useful to have a dedicated hard drive. Something that can be used on a real Amiga as well. I use my compact flash card for this
