New Caps for an A2000 PSU?

Hi,

I'm planning on replacing the fan on my A2000 power supply, the previous owner appears to have replaced it at some point but it's fairly noisy.

I've purchased a new fan and will install once it's arrived but have been wondering whether it's worth replacing the capacitors or any other components whilst I have it out and stripped down?

What does everyone think, I haven't had any issues but would be devastated if it failed at some point and took out the motherboard!

Thanks,

Jamie.

I just replaced the entire guts with a new PSU. removed the board inside and mounted a new 300 watt PSU inside the old PSU case. I cut the power header and soldered it to the new PSU. You need to change the tick jumper to get timing.

Thanks,

I've seen a few posts about replacing with an ATX but wasn't sure whether it would be worth it, the current one works fine, I'm just thinking more about longevity.

Will look into it a bit further, I would like to keep the machine looking as standard as possible so it really depends on how tidy it will look if i go for a swap.

Jamie.

I had made a little PCB for Tick, using instructions from Aminet. Some Amiga genlocks need that signal.
