I'm using aztec C with amigauae , but i have a problem: when i compile a program, aztec complain that can't open #include<exec/types.h>
i execute sh aztec.sh to set the environement variable , but it dosn"t work anyway.

I can't find the doc of Aztec , anyone know what to do ?

hi & welcome,

look into the aztec.sh file, there must be some kind of definitions regarding "INCLUDES". ensure the path at this line fits with your installation:
sort of: INCLUDE="DH1:aztec/includes"
or: ASM_INCLUDE="DH2:aztec/asm"
those lines above are just example, but ensure, the path to the include folders is correct.

here is an intresting page: http://www.aztecmuseum.ca/
maybe you find some more information/manuals/examples over there.

Edit: the read.me from the install floppy says: change into AZTEC MAIN Directory and then start aztec.sh:
from within a shell/cli:
cd DH1:aztec
execute aztec.sh

hmm, did you installed to floppies? dont you have a harddrive (hdd) ?

well, when you start to compile a program, it looks on your floppy ( df0: ) in the Aztec/Include" folder for those files. so you must have the correct floppy in df0:

if its all on floppy, ensure the file is there. open a cli /shell and type, for example:
cd df0:Aztec/Include
list exec/types.h

not sure, what elso i can suggest.

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I'm having the same problem.
I've setup an HDD (DH0) in WinUAE and installed Workbench successfully. The A1200 emulation boots from DH0.
I've installed Aztec C onto dh0 from floppies and checked that the directory structure exists.
If I cd into the Aztec dir I can run aztec.sh, but when I try to compile a simple 'Hello world', I get 'ERROR 47: open failure on include file'.
I've also added the necessary paths to the Startup-Sequence file and then rebooted, but I get the ERROR 47 again.
Could anyone help please?

Aztec C is ancient and quirky. Why not use vbbc? Vbbc is free, easy to install, documentation is online and it's still supported for the Amiga.

You have to use the "set" command from the Aztec-C bin directory. Usually set is built into the CLI, but the lines to set the Aztec environment will only work if you use the proper command.

BTW, I have compiled clean and working installs of Aztec-C 3.6a, 5.2a, SAS/C 6.58 (latest release) and DICE 3.16 as HDFs. If anoybody is interested, I can upload them.
