Best and Worst Tetris Clone for Amiga
BEST: Super Twintris by Big Brother Copy
WORST: Tetris by Mirrorsoft Super Twintris is great fun to play, gives you a lot of control over the pieces as they fall, the music is joyful and it is generally addictive. This is how I discovered Tetris in the first place in the 1990s, and before long I was thinking Tetris all day long, every day, thinking of all possible combinations of pieces to slot into place. Mirrorsoft Tetris is practically none of these things, yet it seems to be the first official release of the game in the West for Amiga. What is your favourite Tetris clone for Amiga? Best and worst if more than one. |

I have the same opinion as yours with the best and the worst. Personally I think Super Twintris is the best Tetris clone on any platform to date.

Wow, only knew Twintris, but my main criticism is that the pieces don't have the same color as the original.
That one seemed to have fixed it. Looks awesome. About Mirrorsoft version: subtitle could be "how to waste a good license ?" |

I've been playing and loving this since I first found it on some Fish disk (I think) back in 1994 - http://aminet.net/package/game/think/tltetris

BEST: Tetris Pro and Tetrys
WORST: Can't tell. If I didn't like it I just forgot that it existed So for me there is not just one but two at least. I love Tetris Pro for it's slow pace and wonderful music, nice graphics and background picture discovery. Tetrys for the other hand was something new for me back then and offered three modes: Junior, Classic and Fantasy. I loved to play Classic and Fantasy. My wife too . Tetrys if for AGA only and looked nice. Also, it's modes were very well balanced and challenging. Screen shots (disproportion resolution come from hol.abime.net so it's not me, sorry): |

No music, no crazy effects going on in the background to distract you. I liked it better for that. |

I like Twintris and Tetris Pro as well. But would also like to add Tetren to the list. Which is PD and very close to the arcade version.
But the best one must best be Pango, if that counts as a tetris game? Last edited by hipoonios; 29 March 2018 at 11:28. |

For the record probably the worst Tetris clone for Amiga was done by me back in 2002. It's called Colorix - http://www.mobygames.com/game/colorix_ and it is written in 100% OS friendly code. It multitasks, it plays and it... sucks.
Also available for Apple II, where it uses the 40x40 low-res, 16 colours graphics mode and it is much better there. |

I always liked Flash Point arcade, is a variation of Tetris by Sega where a round is completed by destyroying the flash points in the board;there are no Amiga versions so wanted to write it on my own version in Blitz but actually am stuck after Daedalus helped me to port a tetris made in Windows Blitz basic; in the past i modified a flash game to act like that so in paper is feasible
