"Snap Snap takes a picture of the current front screen and
reduces it to produce an icon. Can produce icons of
a user specified size. Binary only.
Author: Nick Frabotta"

So, now my hunt can go on for Mr. "Nick Frabotta" or any of the sentences.

Well, that was easy, the readme says "Binary only", and the actual SNAP program found several places, but here's one instance:
tosec\update 20180401\amiga-iso\commodore amiga cdtv - compilations (tosec-v2018-03-25_cm)\17 bit - collection for amiga cdtv (1993)(almathera)(disc 1 of 2).img\files\243.dms
inside the "icon_fun/"

This means we can rebuild disk #88 with that "SNAP" in place, or?

What about contens of disk #80 ?
What was in directory "Tools"

For your information. The disk called "FredFishAmigaLibDisk238.adf" currently in The Zone!, contains a Xeno linkvirus that is not detected by VirusZ...
Be careful with that!

@Crashdisk:

Yes, the version in the Zone is infected. The version on my site is clean. (There are several bootblock viruses on the disk, as part of the NGC anti-virus distribution; however they are no risk unless the user actually writes one of them to a bootblock.)

Where is it hiding? Is that in the bootblock?

I got all these Fish disks from a dealer that was dumping their Amiga stock... guess they weren't careful enough with the write-protect switch.

Xeno 2 is a linkvirus, but the fact that VirusZ does not detect it is because the virus has probably been neutralised by an older antivirus, as recent programs such as VirusZ or VT remove the virus.

I found several more, so I've now put the complete set of 20 banned disks online. I had to remake #88 by modifying #89, so datestamps are different and probably also icon positions; the other 19 are completely authentic.

Do we now have the banned OGRE game? I love the original cardboard version and i'd love to see how some 80's amateur implementation tackled it.

I did some more research for that "Snap" directory for disk #88, and found the same version on CAM archive 040. (like grandis.nu\cd\amigacd\compilation\cam (1994)(almathera)(disc 1 of 2).iso\files\040.lha)

and the date was 25 Jun 1987 for the "snap" executable, where as the Fred Fish disk #88 has dated files of everything 25 Jul 1987, so just a months difference.

If TOSEC ever pick up #88 now, it should naturally be a [A] for alternative, until the real authentic disk would show up one day :-)

Can you share where you found the disks so I can update my list in post #34?

Thanks! Very interesting. I wonder where this collection came from? Has it been floating around in TOSEC all this time?

Where did you get your clean 238? It wasn't in the archive.org collection. I'd rather reference that than the possibly-infected version I Zone'd.

@ Minuous

Thanks - it looks like just about everything is accounted for, now. Would be nice to get an original Disk 88, but at least the missing files have been sourced.

@ rygar

Backup redundancy is good.
