I have been taking a look through the F1 Licenseware CD that DamienD kindly uploaded to the EAB Server the other day... See this thread - There are are number of interesting titles on the disk and it is worth downloading and taking a look - obviously it contains full versions of several games as well... like Operation Firestorm, Blast Em etc...it also contains another Alien Breed clone like Psycheual called Captain Carnage which to be honest is interesting but isn't great - it does show how good the graphics in Psycheual were though - lets hope that the original buyers that Ben contacts have some good news for us soon...

I tried it a bit (went to sector 14 or 15). It is a bit different from Scavenger 2, although a link between the two of them would not surprise me (among other things, you need to collect some "gems" which are called key orbs here, to open the exit of each sector!). The PC game is (if you enable gravity and/or fuel limit) very close to the cave flyer family of games (like Thrust, Zarathrusta or Super Stardust volunteer bonus missions, but with shooting involved here). Rather good shall I say. A bit "common" in the beginning but when you start to find secret passages, be familiar with the different pickups, meet various kind of enemies/traps and that the story develops, it becomes quite interesting. You are only told after a while as a tip, but you can use the keyboard for the thrusters, notably lateral ones (WASD), shooting (keys around there) and rotating (cursor keys), in case you don't want to use the mouse. My obsession to obtain the full registered version of the game "Scavenge" continues...
I have had no luck getting this game although I have the demo disk... I always liked the music from the game, I knew it was by U4IA (Jim Young) of Cryptoburners - this is stated in the game credits but I never new exactly what it was... anyway cut a long story short (unlike me) I have found the Mod file - it is called "Take a Trip From Me" and I have uploaded it to the zone for anyone who is interested... I think it is a pretty decent track although admittedly nothing out of the ordinary - I liked it in the game anyway. U4IA is a pretty good composer in my opinion - anyone else like his stuff? |

Take a Trip From Me module
Hi Peter. I also like this module and i have heard it before, but where, i can't remember, maybe on a music disk demo. Yes, i like his work and i hope that you can publish the full, complete Scavenge game here soon.

@Plasmatron
Double Battle looks very similar to ABreakinDuo which become freeware in 2000 It's unlucky named 'ABDTNB' in Aminet: http://aminet.net/search?query=abdtnb Maybe it's worth uploading too, because of the strange Aminet name some people didn't notice that it's free |

Hi plasmatron, have you emailed the "Southern Lake" website and enquired if they still have the original Amiga version?
They may have done other Amiga games... I wonder if you could drop them a quick email to enquire - only I don't speak German... |

Or we could just put the full version on the FTP and all share it nicely.
