Commodore One!

Will you buy AmigaOne or PegasOs and your friends think you are out of mind because Amiga is dead?

What can say friends of people that will buy this

Yep This is a nice piece of Hardware, I followed the development for a long time now and I hope to see a COne in action on the Amiga + Retro Comuting Show in Germany next weekend

If the price is ok (~$200 is estimated) I will buy one for sure Jeri Elsworth (was that her name ) has done a great work here

It would be cool if you could play all C64 games from a harddrive connected to it. But then, I dont have a fond memory of C64 games really

Other uses would be to mount it in a rackmount together with a A600, Sprinter and Pentium133 motherboard for tehehe T0taL retr0 expecience OMFG.

they have updated the page, new price (250 Euro, not bad), new specs and a new layout (looking very good!)....

"jan-17-2003: first pictures of the pre-production board
the pictures section has been extended by 11 pictures of the pre-production board. Basic testing has already been done, all chips are responding positively to diagnostic access. A 100% test procedure will be developed this weekend. "

Well if its 100% c64 compatible it would be nice for playing the old c64 games. real c64's are cheap but when you take into account they are really old, 1581 drives are expensive (to use 3.5" disks) old monitors are expensive and take up space etc.

Will that board fit into the new mini atx boxes being made?

C64 is the reason why people are negative towards amigas. C64 was publicly known as a machine that looks like a bread box and takes minutes to load programs from casettes, and fail sometimes. I already had a Sega Master System when I had a C64 and compared the two, C64 lost miserably. On the other hand, I wasn't very content with SMS either. I was extremely disappointed when I saw it was a low resolution machine, compared to the games I played on Arcades, these reasons combined I loved my Amiga the day I got it! But again, C64 doesn't bring many cool memories to me either. Additionally, AmigaOne is planned to gain a new user base in a competitive market, while I find it funny it's the fact. On the other hand C1 is the scene machine with less financial hopes. This makes the C1 brand somehow friendlier than A1 though.

Is it a replacement to the old one or an add on?

don't get me wrong i loved the 64, but the Amiga is bomb when it comes to scene-ing, plus the Amiga (just before it died, in a retail world), did have some cool add-ons, the c64 didn't!
