Best storage option when using A1200 or Vampire IDE
Since I am planning to get some time off with Holidays I am planning to try the Vampire on my A500 and I want some recommendations.
I was always wondering what is the best option when it comes to running Amiga OS on an Amiga 1200 or a Vampire IDE Port. 1. Using 2.5" IDE HDD/DOM? (Current Setup on my A1200) 2. Using 2.5" IDE to Compact Flash 3. Using 2.5" IDE to SD Card 4. Using on-board Micro SD on Vampire (Don't know if it is supported yet) 5. Using 2.5" IDE to SATA HDD Adapter My guess will be that running native HDDs will be the best option but considering the fact the Compact flash/SD Cards can be swapped fairly easily I might also try this option on my Vampire Build Does anyone know if there are any SD Card longevity issues with the Amiga OS? From what it seems there are not so many writes as in a Windows/Linux system. Also the fact that the Apollo OS for the Vampire is available in a 32GB Image using Compact Flash might be the easiest option. Any recommendations? Thanks Mike |
