Floppy disk X-System ( not X-System 2) aka Crossed System

Hello fellow Amiga enthusiasts!

I am on an old fashioned quest to find a game I wrote that was published as Exclusiveware by Virus Free PD in the UK in 1991. It was called X-System (aka Crossed System) and I cannot find it anywhere! I've put posts up elsewhere and a helpful person suggested asking you good people. I also made a follow up called X-System 2 which I have managed to find.

I've told the story so far here:

Thank you!

Heya TDO,

Welcome to EAB

Your video cracked me up

Seems extremely rare; I've search all EAB / internet resource and files on my external hard drives but nothing...

Of course, as you say, "X-System 2" is quite easy to find.

Don't give up hope though, it may be on some obscure Public Domain CD-ROM or something.

Edit: I was hoping to maybe find it on AmigaPD but they too only have the 2nd game...

Hopefully you found it entertaining. Thank you, I appreciate you taking the time to search for it. I recently got back in contact with the original owner of Virus Free PD and even he can't find it. If it weren't for the magazine review and the adverts I would begin to think it was all a dream!

No problem

...wish I had better news though but, you never know, it may turn up some day.

Great video TDO, There are not many people who begin with saying how bad their game is. lol.

Anyway this thread has sparked interest so I thought I'd do an extensive search myself only to find the 2nd game like DamienD did.

I will always keep an eye out for it and let you know if I come across it.

Definitely not the worse game ever.

Might be worth looking through some of the BBS collections

Are there any screenshots in Magazines, was it ever on a cover disk?

You are aware, that we have VirusFree PD Disks #0001 - #1200 on EAB FTP!?
However, it seems mentioned game is not among this Disks.
If i remember correctly this is not the full VirusFree PD collection.
Disks 0001 - 1200 are from period of time 198x - end of 1990 i think.

X-System is mentioned in "Amiga Power - Issue 03" (3/4 page) but is not present in the floppy disk

Thank you all so much for looking for me, it's appreciated. Unfortunately, as it was not PD it wasn't in VFPD's normal PD disk numbering. It was a separate experiment of theirs into exclusive budget content. The second version was in the new Central Licenceware register (CLR) and so was both given a number, and available from a few other PD libraries, which is why that one survived.

The screen shot in Amiga Power is the only thing I have to remind me of what I created. Funnily though they messed up the photo because the game didn't have the colourful copper bars at the bottom. The main ship was based on a Klingon bird of prey, so yes, yet more Trek references. It was also on 2 disks, for a reason I can't remember. I doubt it was because of the size of the game, more likely because it was before the Amos compiler and therefore needing the runtime files.
