Simon the Sorcerer II
I've just bought this game & after initially not having any sound at all I installed the sound driver which was included on the disk(new one on me that one) but although I've now got speech+sound effects I'm not getting any music! Does this Amiga conversion have music? I cant even see any files on the disk which might be music files. Ive try'd running the game from H/D + straight off the CD but the end results the same. I'm running it on an A1200 with a 50mhz 030 + 32meg of ram, my OS is 3.5

I didn't even know that there were an Amiga version of the sequel. Maybe it will work with ScummVM. The PC versions work fine.

I remember to have seen it appearing in the GAEB (<= German forum) blacklist where you can find all games that aren't allowed to request. |

Speaking of Simon II, can anyone tell me what kind of Amiga conversion it is? Is it a semi-conversion, as in it uses the original PC files, or is it a total conversion, as in it uses different, unique data files?
I have copies of Simon 1 & 2 for PC and was wondering whether I could use the PC game files with the Amiga executables of both games. |

The data files used in the Amiga version of Simon the Sorcerer 2 are the same as PC version, except the voice files are divided up differently. So the PC data files can be used with Amiga execuatbles but you won't get any speech.
The only other differences in Amiga/Mac ports are they offer several languages via custom .dict files and use different animation for F10 key. If you use ScummVM (CVS version) you will get music too but would need to compile it yourself if using Amiga or Mac. |
