Holger Gehrmann falls to his death at age of 39

Yes
reLINE co-founder Holger Gehrmann is now looking down at us from his cloud. No media I queried revealed anything about the reason of his unexpected death, so there are merely speculations ...
BTW if I had known about this incident a bit earlier, I would have posted it!

On February 11, 2008, he reportedly fell to his death out of a window in a 6th-floor apartment in a multistorey building.
It is not known to this date, whether it was suicide or accident.

It was not even granted for him to cross the magical '40' boundary.
Born on May 06, 1968, we COULD have celebrated a nice birthday for him next month - yes the 40th!!!

R.I.P.

exactly, holger Gehrmann was the creator of the ReDOS protection system,
and fate gates of dawn one of it's creators.

It seems he has suicided himself by jumping from the 6th floor of a skyscraper.

Skyscraper? Ugh, don't believe what translator software suggests sometimes

merely a multi-storey building , but yes sufficient enough to have him dead now.

But the incident even had something positive: the source I linked you guys to above also features an answer from old and long-time GAEB resident Xajorkith. Always been wondering where he had gotten to ...

I've read this MMW post from his old friend and reLine partner Olaf Patzenhauer some weeks ago. Very sad news. He made some real Amiga classics. RIP Holger!!

Yes, Holger was one of the early Amiga game pioneers.....very sad he died so young and in such circumstances

Here are a couple of interviews that give some insight into the type of guy he was:

He was one of my favourite amiga composers. Especially the Oil Imperium soundtrack is amazing.

RIP Holger.

I do not read MMW. You could have told us!
I recently got a business mail from some guy who had the same first AND second name! Hence, I decided to go on a search trip on Google to suss out whether he was *THE* H. G. Of course he was not; but not many minutes later, I found Olaf's post.

"The Final Mission" from reLINE was one of the first amiga games I ever played..All the way back in 1989. "Crystal Hammer" rocked too.

Crystal Hammer, now that brings back memories as the soundtrack was killer compared to other "BREAKOUT" clones
