I'm not sure if anyone ever really used Termite TCP... mainly because it's not AmiTCP/IP compatible, so most of 3rd party networking software don't work under it directly. There seems to be some kind of patch to make it compatible, but is that reliable or does it add overhead?
MiamiDx was fine (except the hazy paranoid stuff by the developer) on dial-up modem times, but for broadband/ethernet it's just two times slower than any other option. So, pick anything else but Termite or Miami(dx) would be my recommendation |

Thanks kriz for that French page. "The SLIP or CSLIP protocols are not recognized, nor is it possible to use a device other than the serial port to connect: Termite TCP does not go through a SANA-II standard network driver, which would have allowed him to use an ethernet card, etc.

The demo on aminet says “AmiTCP client compatibility is disabled” which I presume means that it has disabled their bsdsocket.library interface. This is also an intriguing choice as it would be more or less impossible to evaluate the demo when you cannot use any existing networked apps with it . |
