I was afraid the video problem would persist, but with the A520 everything is fine.

Oh well, I tried to open the A600 but I couldn't... it resited and I feared I could break something. I am not a delicate person, you know...

Since I use the composite output, the image looks perfect to me, but I don't have a monitor to check the image quality...

it's not that composite video or rf modulated are so much worse, it's that the TV is bloody afful res compared to monitor, and deliberately fuzzes the picture to make up for it.

The recomended viewing distamce for a 24" TV is 9 feet or 2.75m
For a 14" monitor you're usually less than 75cm away... when you view th TV at the right distance it doesn't look so bad. Also try comparing with the composite output from a PC GFX card - not much difference. But a proper monitor is always best for sharpness - it's just that you cant get 28" widescreen monitors

I dunno the details of your video problem, but when I use a composite lead from my CD32 or A600 to my 14" Sony TV the picture is quite clear. That was until I had a Scart lead plugged in for my video and dvd. For some reason, even when the mentioned devices are off or unplugged, having the Scart in the back of the TV caused interference with the composite connection(Maybe beacuse they both count as AV1?).
I thought it was to do with the RF and while trying to take it out of the back of my TV I accidentally knocked the Scart Lead out, and found that the picture became good again. I have also had the picture and in particular the sound quality go bad when I was on channel 0 and then switched to AV. The interference from the untuned channel 0 came through onto the composite video. I just tuned the channel to a blank spot to fix it.

Yer wrong there mate.

The reason why RGB looks oh-so-much better, is that each signal has its own cable. There's only so much bandwidth you can transmit through a cable, and in RGB, you have one cable for red, one cable for blue and one for green, and also some cables for sync and other things. In composite, you have one cable for RGB+sync, and on RF, it's RGB+sync+audio! This brings down the picture quality a -LOT- because lots of shite goes through the same cable!

Try it yaself if you have a 1084.. Connect your Amiga to it through both RGB and Composite (if you have an A500 you can't do this, an A600 or 1200 are needed). Click on the switch that changes from composite to RGB... notice the bloody giant difference. In the same monitor

Using an RGB-capable TV/arcade monitor would bring a similarly brilliant resolution. I just recommend a 1084 because it's the most common RGB monitor around.

true, but having RGB and composite IN & OUT also stereo audio IN and OUT, oh and digital RGB, and control switching - so your video can controle your satallite/digital receiver - all in one standard connector - no exceptions allowed - means we can do a lot with it... and our screen res is better than yours :-P

PS I ride a bike and use any side of the road I please!
