Any ISA Mach64 Information?
Hi
Received my Mach64 card this morning, looks nice! Does anyone have any information on this card or know any links. I have looked, but found hardly any at all. I see empty chip sockets that look like for the vid mem so i guess i can upgrade the vid ram to whatever using certai memory chips. I know this Mach64 ISA has 1mb RAM by default. Regards |

lol it is fast, but has some scrolling probs in some games, most notably Apogee ones... try Commander Keen 3 and above, and tell us if the scrolling is jerky... |

hi no mine doesn't look like that. i think mine maybe an updated one/newer revision. the 2 bottom chips with the white labels on in your pic has 1995 written onit, whereas mine has 1996 written - sounds like a revision to me. plus my chips are laid out different and i have empty sockets and additional chips (probs mem) at the left hand side instead of the mibble lot of chips between those 2 sockets (which mine dont have). i may get a mates camera and take some pics. regards

hi
ok i done a little research yesterday. haven't found much, but this appears to be the manual: http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt=A0geu.3tye...rsn_mach64.pdf i also found a pic of it, mine looks almost exactly like this apart from mine has got the extra vram chips installed yet (mine is 1mb instead of 2mb). http://i19.ebayimg.com/02/i/000/a7/04/8dd0_1.JPG anyway, i got hold of some vram chips from old isa gfx cards. they are 20 pin. i asked some questions to the seller and he gave me some info on these chips "one is a V53C104AP80 (MOSEL, low power 256K X 4 bit fast page mode CMOS dynamic RAM, 80ns) and the other is a 44C256-80N (which, from memory, is the direct TI equivalent). In each case, there are 8 socketed chips.". I am guessing i can use these chips on my mach64 card. can anyone confirm this and which one to use? |

4x 256k = 1MB but 8 sockets of 256k would be 2MB, how much can the video card reference (upto 4MB?)
anyway my friend, check your PM |
