Any DB i put in the DATABASE_ADF folder gets "The version of this DB is not compatible"

ADF DB skipped: Unrenamed - Warez scene (v2021-04-18)[part1] => The version of this DB is not compatible
ADF DB skipped: Unrenamed - Warez scene (v2021-04-18)[part2] => The version of this DB is not compatible

Hi Faerytale,
it is likely that you are using the wrong version of ADF-Workshop.
The latest databases, including those you mention, are only compatible with ADF-Workshop v2021xxxx.
Please check with the "About" function

Crashdisk, I am looking for the old databases of year 2020 for use with the TOSEC homepage version of ADF-Workshop.

You say at the top of this thread that the year 2020 databases can be downloaded from the FTP Server, but the only version there is the 2019 or older (I think).

If you could upload the databases at some other place for me and other people to download it, I would thank you for the help.

You are right, I did not update the FTP. So it is corrected
I took the opportunity to add the last updates of the v12 databases on the FTP. They will also be available on the forum in the evening...
EDIT : Well, finally, it's already done ^^

Are you going to re-upload the beta program too?

The v12 databases are only for that, correct??

The v12 database only works with the 2021 version of the program.
The data is no longer calculated in the same way, so it cannot be made compatible or converted with the old version of the program.

Using always the last version of a program is important IMHO

So, this is valid also for ADF-Workshop

Anyway, no idea about the databases to use, sorry

It is simple :

ADF-Workshop v2015 = Database v11 only
ADF-Workshop v2021 = Database v12 only
As the program is portable, you can have and use both versions as long as you put them in different folders.

Other databases will be available soon

New beta in first post
- Better management of the ADF database (faster loading, less memory used, faster searching,...)
- Updated autofix DMS database
- Updated bootblock database
- Updated exec database

I added 2 new db :
NonTOSEC - Crashdisk (v2021-08-09)
Unrenamed - Commercial CD (v2021-07-20)

First, place the program in an read/write folder
Run the program and with the window that opens, choose the folder containing the ADF files (no ZIP, DMS, WRP, ... only the ADF files)
After validation, the program scans the folder and all subfolders
When it is finished, a file named "Last_ADF_File[UseDBName].db" is created
The name can be freely changed (ex: Asle - My Disk Collection.db)
This file must be placed in the /database_ADF folder

Please note :
If in your database "Asle - My Disk Collection.db", there is an entry called "Disk013", it will appear in ADF-W under the name "Disk013"
If you add "[UseDBName]" to the name of your database (Asle - My Disk Collection[UseDBName].db, the same entry will appear as "Asle - My Disk Collection - Disk013"

Answer to a question I was asked about the flags displayed when decompressing a DMS file.
Code:
File selected : FWR3UPD.DMS
File size : 744.343 bytes
CRC32 : $BB0CA619
File loaded as an DMS : DMS Archive

File format : DMS hacked with MaPuS
Version number of creator : v2.04
Version needed to extract : v1.11
Packed bytes : 29.940.292 bytes
Unpacked bytes : 36.495.360 bytes
Lowtrack in archive : 00
Hightrack in archive : 00
Compression Mode Used : Heavy1
Creation date : 1994.12.15 07:15:04
Time to create archive : 00:01:36
Info Header CRC : $5D9F

Machine Type : Amiga
Machine CPU : Motorola 68030
CPU Coprocessor : Motorola 68882
Kickstart Version used : 40.68
Disktype of Archive : Amiga OS 1.0 OFS
General info : Appends DMS_DEV_Fixed

Cyl Dec Len RLE Len Comp Len C.Mode & Flag U.SUM D.CRC H.CRC Crypt

   C00 11.264 10.998 10.144 Heavy1 - T - $5357 $BF15 $586B No
   C01 11.264 11.134 10.721 Heavy1 - T C $1EDA $9CD7 $465B No
   C02 11.264 - 10.871 Heavy1 D T C $E992 $75DA $025A No
First of all, this only concerns cylinders compressed in HEAVY mode, so potentially DMS created from 1.11 version.
D > Typically, the raw data is pre-compressed with the RLE method before applying the Heavy method. This flag indicates that the data is directly compressed in Heavy.
T > This flag indicates that the compressed data starts with a literal table.
C > This flag indicates that the data is compressed individually from the others. Generally, the compressed data of a cylinder X depends on the data from the decompression of cylinder X-1. If this flag is set, the cylinder can be read without having to decompress the previous data. This is only used with the DEVFIX option (for use with DMSDevice)
