Fantastic, really well done.
Clean Japan style graphics, impressive and varied audio, and above all 100% arcade gameplay !! Thanks H0ffman and Toni Galvez!

p.s. on my A500 + 1084crt is a marvel!

I looked at the MSX version and was amazed of how much better the Amiga version looks and sound.
On top of that the gameplay is really polished.
This is for sure a major quality release. On top of that it runs on all Amigas

A huge thank you so much to everyone, I am so happy to been participate on this wonderful project, a Konami game that could be a disaster if was done by Novotrade or US Gold, but we are lucky to have one of the best Amiga coders, Hoffman, so, the development could have all the love and care it deserves.

As a big Konami fan, I always wanted a proper games from this company to the Amiga, but sadly, Amiga was never touched by a Japanese Konami coder. But now, we got an important library of Konami games for our beloved computer, growing every day.

Tinyus, Metal Gear, King's Valley, Amidar, Knightmare... Green Beret and Jackal are on the way, and many more.

Full disclosure.. not for a very long time, if ever at all. The ROM is huge (512k) and contains bank switching which I've still not perfected disassembly for. So yes I've taken a cursory look at it because I think it would be good be has actually lead me to want to create a new game in a similar style from scratch... but .. I have my next set of projects already mapped out. More details on those in the coming months. First a break

And thanks for the kind words everyone. Great to see people enjoying it. Was fun to make this and great to work with Toni. It provided a few challenges, mostly technical in getting enough performance to move everything around the screen in 50HZ but also creatively. That was so much music to put together!!!

Soundtrack is up on Bandcamp for free

https://hoffman.bandcamp.com/album/knightmare-amiga-ost

see you in 6 months

Fantastic game! Thanks a lot for bringing my childhood favorite from the MSX to Amiga! :-) Love the upgraded graphics, and the music is brilliant!

Knightmare CD32 Beta...

I'm sure Hoffman might do something official in the future, but for those that can't wait, i've done a beta version for CD32 users so they too can get in on the action.

Simply burn the "KnightmareCD32" file to a CD, stick on a startup-sequence and thats it.

Its a BETA, I didn't want to go too far with it as i'm sure Ian will do something himself, I was actually doing something else and being nosey, and somehow I got a bit carried away, 20minutes later it was running as a single file.

Obviously will also work off Hard Drive for A1200 owners or any owners with a machine with 2 meg chip ram including 68000 systems, obviously the 2meg chip ram is because of CD32.

Enjoy this little magnum opus from Hoffman and Toni Galvez, its a nice little game with some real polish, they did all the hard work, I did nothing.

Cheers Galahad. I'll be honest I have no intentions of continuing further, project is a wrap for me. There is the question of the player hit box being slightly mis aligned which I'll get to in the next few days but otherwise this is a wrap.

I welcome stuff like this and if anyone is interested in making a whdload slave then please do. You'll find offsets to the important places at the start of each code chunk.

The source code is also available on github for those interested.

@hoffman: I noticed a difference between the msx and amiga version: the bats do not fly all the way up to the pilars on the side. On the msx I could walk to the pilars and shoot al the bats there.
