1084S D2 vs. 1084ST/1081 Horizontal Amp

I'm lucky enough to own all 3 of the above displays, all in lovely condition & fully recapped by myself.

Anyway, I was wondering if the Philips variants (1081 & 1084ST in my case) suffered from lack of horizontal amplitude?

I ask because Workbench has a black borders left/right even at full amp with both Philips displays. However, I can fill the screen with the D2 (Daewoo) with amplitude to spare in the pot.

No idea about the 1084ST, but the 1081 and 1084S by Philips have no problems filling the viewable area horizontally.

The 1084ST I know of is not made by Philips.

Could be a worn out potentiometer then I guess?

Apologies, 1084ST was made by Likom, however, suffers the same horizontal amp issue as the Philips.

A worn out potentiometer usually causes jumps, and a flickering picture. This sounds more like a capacitor issue or a failing power supply.
