Great, let me know how you like it. There are videos and tutorials on morph library. It is pretty easy to figure out, it is very MUI intensive so everything can be customized. Try dual monitor and check out Jaca's video on the new SMB2/3 features of MorphOS 3.18. Enjoy. |

So I've already installed 3.18 on a MacMini and it works fine. Had to swap out the DVI cable for some reason to get output on the same Dell as my primary A1200 is hooked up to. Anyway, thanx for the video link, a nice "getting started video", however, the firs t thing he mentions as a "must have" is the Chrysalis pack, but video is 10 months old, and the Chrysalis pack is no longer available on morphos-storage.net. A quick google sent me to a redit post where they basically say that the author is working on something new, so right now it seems its unavailable. |

Chrysalis is far from "must have".
It helps with the uae, changes the look a bit of the desktop, adds some nice software. I usually don't install it and cherry pick what I want, just a few items really. The base install really gives most everything you need. Wayfarer and Iris are in the apps folder and will update to the latest versions. The panels are pretty easy to configure. Recommend you turn on all the window buttons in ambient. If you use multimonitor it will add a instant redirect for native apps and it just sends it over to the other display. Enjoy... |

Literally zero effort to get Internet working on MorphOS. Just plugged in an ethernet cable…and Done. Impressed by Wayfarer, speed on Mac Mini isnt like on a modern computer obviously but it works better than I imagined it would. Compatibility is impressive.
Btw, This is just speculation but I feel the A1222 and a MacMini are in a similar ballpark, in overall performance… not too shabby for a €50 computer paired with MorpOS. |

Nice to hear your impressions so far. You can speed up wayfarer by reading the thread on Morph.zone, it will help it. I would think with all the settings youtube should work just fine.
Try Iris for your email, it is a superb client with contacts/vcard. I would think the a1222, would be faster in some areas and maybe slower in others. Pretty sure memory and bus speed will favor the 1222 but the Mac has Altivec and multimedia will be faster. I started with a Peg II and went down the rabbit hole with powerbooks and powermacs. The 2.7Ghz PCIX is very impressive with how close it is to a modern computer for performance, crazy when you consider how old the hardware is but a real testament to just how good MorphOS is. The 2.5 PCIe is also extremely good, but I really notice the 200MHz for some things. Once all the video cards are sorted the PCIe system with it's faster bus will probably really shine and the speed difference will go away. |

I would recommend you try the newest version of PolyOrga that was just released. It is super duper sweet, it is quite easily the best organizer on any Amiga flavors and has features not seen on most PC crm/organizers that I have come across. Visit Morph.zone for the thread to find it... https://morph.zone/modules/newbb_plu...=13646&forum=9 Last edited by matt3k; 18 September 2023 at 16:48. |

If your using Iris, there is an update that was just released. If you have auto updates on, it will just do it. If not go to Check for Updates in the drop down. It is a seamless experience, good stuff... |

Btw, its released now it seems.
https://oldschoolgameblog.com/2024/0...n-amigakit-fr/ Id like to say big congrats to AEON for finally releasing this after all those years of delay! That being said, IMO it's like the A600 being designed as a cheap entry level machine, but once released its priced at a whole different level.. In this case, at €1100... for the motherboard alone.. And that's the special intro price, it will be €1200 later. Now, yea its a niche market, but these days when ppl churn out stuff like BFG9060, ZZ9000 for €300 ish im surprised they couldn't keep it under €1000 at least.. Oh well.. |

HunnoPPC and 1 other user shared photos of their A1222’s (boxes at least).
I am keeping my eye out for a review/overview on YT. |

I've built my A1222+ into a Checkmate case that I bought years ago, for this very purpose. I've been taking pics throughout the build and I aim to write a report on it (and the case). I'm also going to various User Group meets over the next few weeks to show it off
