Can't save changes to CF card from WinUAE

I'd be surprised if Im the first to ask this but a forum search returned to much vaguely related stuff so I'll simply ask again.

I just tried to format a CF card in WinUAE which I run as Admin.
It´s to be used in a PCMIA CF reader on the A600, but that is of secondary concern as things go south before I get the chance to try it out on the 600.

Here's the problem:
When I try to prepare the card (partition, format etc) in WinUAE 3.5.0 it doesn't save the changes in HD Toolbox.

For the most part I get this error message:
https://photos.app.goo.gl/imYH2Ep8zHD1iHst1

The CF card is of the same type I have succesfully used before on my A1200 (Sandisk 4GB), has no physical Write protection on it.
As I said, I run WinUAE as Administrator.

I don't get the last part of the error message. "Erase the drive or unmount all PC partitions first".

The UAE config starts WB from emulated floppies (.adf), the only other "partitions" added to UAE is the CF card. And the CF card is the only card in the Card reader connected to the PC..

Any ideas? I do this too seldom to remember all the quirks and stuff to get it working, as I've clearly pulled this stuff off before..
Thanx

It means card is not empty and has PC partition table and/or partitions. If partition is FAT (not NTFS), ticking "Lock" option in harddrive selection window should override it.
