8mb supraRam board only shows 4mb in test mode

Hi all
Can anyone tell me why if I put my supraram 2000 ram board with 8mb installed into test mode it will only show 4mb installed but if I put it in run mode workbench shows it as 8mb.
Is there something wrong or am I doing something wrong.
Many Thanks

Some of your RAM is faulty or making a bad contact.

It just reports the RAM as being there, no-one tests it during boot up.

Test the RAM with something MBRTest-2 or Amiga Testkit.

Or wait.. What reports 4MB in Test mode? I was under the assumption that you ran the Supra memory test in Test mode and that told you 4MB was usable.

Running it in Test mode in normal use makes no sense to me, it is not expected to show correct amounts in Workbench in that mode.

The supra test software says the board is set to 4mb when set as 8 or 6mb sysinfo shows it as 8mb in two 4mb I just would think the official software would see the total ram installed and if it is only testing 4mb how do I test the other 4mb other than removing all the chips and installing 4 my at a time.
