Which Amiga game source codes should be released?

Given the recent release of the Agony sources, which other Amiga game sources should be made available to the public because of their historical significance?

Here's my top 3:

1. Turrican II - The Final Fight
2. Shadow of the Beast
3. Lemmings

I wonder why Factor 5 hasn't released the Turrican II sources yet. They are quite active in the retro scene and releasing the Turrican II sources would certainly a nice gift to all Amiga fans.

I'd really like to see the source of all OS4 exclusive games released, so we can work on porting them to run on classic.

I'd love to see the Turrican II and Turrican I source code. They're such iconic games from the 8 and 16 bit systems.

Would it surprise many people, that the majority of game source code is now lost in the midsts of time ?

I know for a fact that all the Core Design source code is long gone... perhaps a few bits and pieces scattered around somewhere languishing on long forgotten hard drives.

Oh, I'm not surprised at all. But a man can dream, even if it's never going to happen

The Turrican 3 source code is already available, https://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=40375

I would imagine the Turrican 2 source would be rather similar to it.

I don't think that is quite correct. AFAIK Turrican 3 is a different code base which made by reusing the Mr. Nutz code as it's base. Which kind of makes sense, as Turrican 3 is a rather different game than it's two predecessors.

All the Gremlin stuff has now gone. When I was there they were quite meticulous about storing it all in a locked room.

Gremlin sold to Funcom and it all got skipped!

It's also a different coder. Turrican 1+2 were written by Holger Schmidt, Turrican 3 by Peter Thierolf of Apidya fame.

I'm pretty sure Beast is out in the wild, so many people had access to it for the various conversions that I'm sure its been leaked.

Is there a point in releasing source codes for Amigans other than just a curiosity of few programmers, who can appreciate it? I mean is there a chance to use something from this old heritage for anything new?

@Predseda:

It makes modifying the game easier, eg. if someone wanted to try to fix a jerky scrolling routine or whatever.

Mr. Nutz was technically NUTS so releasing that source code would help do similar things

I know Dan Scott said most Core sources are gone, would however like to see how universe did deal with CLUT and create a standard around its engine for other adventures

I'd say 'none of them'.
Most of the advanced programming techniques are readily known and I'd be really surprised if there was anything we didnt already knew.

All Gremlin source code isn't gone. I have Lotus & Lotus 3 plus Supercars 2 source by Codetapper. Maybe I'll get hold of Harlequin...

The SC2 source helped me to improve my Supercars III java remake. I also have access to Jim Power source which I used to make CD32 conversion easier!

Note that a few game executables weren't stripped of their symbols: examples: Thexder, Earl Weaver Baseball (partially), Zool 2 CD32 & Roadkill CD32. No comments, but all variable & function names!
