Type of CD-Device
Hello Toni,
I'm using WinUAE 3.4.0. If i choose a CD/DVD (on "CD & Hard drives" ->"CD drive / image" as D:\) and the box "CDFS automount CD/DVD drives" is checked, i get a drive at uaescsi.device, unit 0. Now my Program does a Mode Sense(6 or 10) with a mode page of 0x2a (CD Capabilities and Mechanical Status Page). In the Response, Bytes 2 & 3 are always 0x01 & 0x00 wich means, the device is only capable of reading CD-ROM (no DVDs nor can it write/burn media), no matter what the real drive is capable of. I forgot to mention: the real drive is an ATAPI-one (not SCSI) Is this intentional? Cheers |

Yes. If you want to use physical drive, change misc panel SCSI mode to Passthrough.
SCSI emulation mode emulates CD drive, "real" drive type won't make any difference. SCSI emulation mode makes it possible to play CD audio from image and any physical drive (at least as long as drive can do raw reading). |

Hi Toni,
thank you for the quick response. Unfortunately i can not find such a thing called Passthrough. But i found a Pulldown-Menu called "SCSI & CD/DVD access:" with the entry "SCSI Emulation *" selected. If i instaed select "SPTI + SCSI SCAN" i seem to have direct access to the real devices :-) |

I guess I renamed it long time ago. (SPTI is Windows API for SCSI Passthrough).
