New WHDLoad Download Tool

It's been a while since I used the tool, but now trying 1.1 and 1.2 I'm getting a "download error" on all the zip files. I barely have time to see it before the command window disappears again.

I get the sequence:

• Checking for update...
  
• reading http:yada, yada, grandis...
  
• four "download error!" messages
  
• Processing dat files...

After that, nothing.

Is this a sign that the FTP server is full?

Not sure. Just tried it on my computer and it worked fine.

Hmm, weird. Still getting the same. Tried "ftp" instead of "ftp2" but nothing changes. And as far as I can tell, nothing in my firewall is stopping communication.

Interesting... I copied the DATA zips from an older folder into the new one in 1.2 and it seems to work. Need to check if it's imported the newer versions and see if the newer WHDLoad games are present.

If you are on v1.2, use HTTP as it works a lot better than the FTP.

Not sure if this is a bug or intentional, but the new version 1.2 does not seem to save the username and password field. I have it set correctly in the default.prefs file but when you start up the tool, it still has ftp as the Username and amiga as the password.

Is this how it works now? I have jumped from 0.8b to v1.2 so maybe things have changes now.

Fixes / Updates

• Fixed a bug when the FTP and HTTP settings weren't applied to the relevant gadgets when loading the default prefs.

Nice, thanks for fixing so quickly. Thanks also for implementing my suggestion of some time ago where I asked if the download and delete old files could be done in one go, this works great now. Super app use it all the time

Thanks, I think it defaults to HTTP!


I got it to work... by copying the program folder to another drive. Very odd, as there are no restrictions or error on the drive I had it on!


Oh, well... at least it works!

I've downloaded this but I'm at a loss as to how I actually install/launch it? All I see are .pb files and .dll files.

If anyone can help that would be much appreciated.

there should be: WHDLoadTool.exe

if not, check antivirus

If you are trying to get from Github then click where it says releases. That's where the main files are. The MEGA and FTP links only have the release zip files.

Really? Last night i happen to learn that i am using very old tool (0.8 i think) after downloading new one and try i saw some old game versions. maybe reason why. Better download evertyhing from scratch and observe afterwards. thanks
