I've seen it running on a friend's BlizzardPPC (603e-240 and 256mb ram) + BVisionPPC.
It was a bit slow compared to NG Amigas but definitely not unusable. CyberStormPPC is faster so I guess it will be faster. The problem is the 128mb limit and I guess that will limit its useability. It's always worth getting what your Amiga supports in my opinion. What graphics card do you have? Last edited by ancalimon; 19 June 2014 at 17:05. |

DonĀ“t buy OS4.x, as on Amiga hardware, no matter what PPC accelerator you have, it will crawl, and eat ram like there is no tomorrow. Besides, many system operations will be much slower than any AmigaOS 3.x system.
I highly recommend you get AmigaOS 3.9 on that hardware, and maybe use some Amiga distro/pack targeted at high end systems. |

I haven't tried OS 4.1 classic but I have set up an OS4.0 classic partition on my A4000D. It is interesting but I wouldn't use it as my main system. Some classic software is faster and some is incompatible. It gave the PPC processor a good test. I have both 3.1 and 3.9 on other partitions and most of what I do works fine in 3.1. 3.9 uses the PPC processor a bit more and does it better. I still defaut to 3.1 with warp up and it works fine with all the PPC specific software I have except the PPC version of Imagine. I was just starting to play around with OS4 and test software on it when my A4000D crashed and it looks like it will be a while before I fix it and can test more software on it.
