Help with animated qblit

Me again!

At the moment I am animating my blitter objects by referencing different shapes at different times. Something like this

Code:
if frame=0 then shape =0
if frame =1 then shape = 1
qblit 0,shape,posx,poy
Is there any easier way of doing this? The reason I ask is because when I go to check for collisions between shapes which requires the shape my shape is changing all the time!
