Once more a too fast WHDLoad game :(

I previously suggested that the speed of the dogfight scenes in Wings were going too fast on my A1200 030 40MHz using WHDLoad compared to running it on a standard A500.

I have now found yet one more game which is actually close to unplayable due to being sped up too much on that A1200 system, namely Battlehawks 1942... does anyone else experience this too?? Is there a way to slow it down?? I hope so 'cause soon I will not have my A1200 anymore but an A4000T with a 060 / PPC (not slower hehehe)

The slave isn't on the whdload site so I can't include it in the packs

No archive upload correction in the last five years for Fast Lane? Never noticed the Wolfchild slave inside this install.

btw, since Wings combats run too fast in the current WHDLoad version might it be that it would run at a more appropriate speed if it was made in a "don't use Fastmem" version ?? just a thought

Btw, thanks KG, happy to hear that Battlehawks 1942 (both versions) will be a part of the coming pack Love that game!!

maybe the nocache tooltype would help slow it down ?

that rings a bell, how I think I tried it with no success.... but if you could remind me how I use that tooltype when running Wings on my A1200 using WHDLoad I can retest it to make sure

Ok, finally I got the A1200 fired up...

Tried both:

nommu
&
nocache

I didn't register any change in 3D combat speed.... it's still faster than it originally was on an A500..... I hope there is some other way to get the original speed on a beefed up Amiga

Maybe it's normal, who knows. The A1200 030 renderings in 2D/3D are much faster as on an A500.
Even with the Slow slave the game needs some fastmem for preloading, could this be the problem?
Quote:
SLOW Game needs 0.5 MB Of Chipmem & 2.0MB of Fastmem (for preload option)

Battlehawks is indeed quicker on an A1200 even with the slow slave, there is nothing that can be done about this. I wasn't aware it was significantly quicker to make it unplayable.

Are you 100% sure that the slow slave was picked? Because the fast slave is considerably quicker, in fact its so quick as to be unplayable.

I don't know which slave it has, and it's been so long since I found it on-line that I can't remember where I got it from.... crossing my fingers for KG's coming pack where both slave versions are included

thanks for the link I must confess I've never applied the WHDLoad patches to a game myself.... and I don't own an original copy of Battlehawks 1942 either. I'll wait patiently for KG's pack

There is no need to install it again.

FAST slave = 1540 bytes
SLOW slave = 1512 bytes

Copy/overwrite the attached file to your game-folder, if you are using the FAST slave, and tell us what happens.
