Not strictly Amiga, but since this thread has been posted in 'Nostalgia & Memories', I guess you'll forgive me posting this picture from Shadow of the Comet. Isn't that Vincent Price playing the doctor?

Wow, forgotten about that old posting. Doesn't surprise me in the slightest though-as it was about the number of old game licenses where use of faces/ character image "rights" were either limited or not allowed at all. One time The One did a feature on Arnie, & I think the best scoring game,(with likeness),was Oceans awful Red Heat, where Arnie at least looked vaguely like himself in sprite form. Kind of ironic with games like Everything or Nothing, where they didn't have a single problem with big name sign ups at all. Although $$$ always obviously talked even back then, imagine the hype Lucasarts for example could've generated if the Fate of Atlantis talkie had Harrison Ford doing the V.A. Speaking of which I always found it strange how Lucasarts had no problems with getting Billy Dee Williams for JKII:Jedi Outcast, yet Mark Hamill who did the later W.C. games,& apparently,(at least according to one rumour I heard), did a vocal appearance in Soldier of Fortune 2, weird! |

Actually, the fifth guy looks like Donald Rumsfeld...
Also, Nitro has many references to real persons like Clint Eastwood and Sylvester Stallone... |

I always thought Bud Bundy from "Married... with childred" (later in the series, when he had beard) looked a bit like Guybrush from Monkey Island 2.
And is the resemblance between Captain Barbossa from "Pirates of the Caribbean" and LeChuck really just a coincidence? Both being based on the rollercoaster ride isn't even remotely a justification for making them look so much alike. |
