Hi.

I have just gotten this game and am looking for the updates, wich I read is released..

But I dont seem to find them anywhere, the old page is gone ...

Its great fun, I have played for an hour now! very recomended... And use the updates, I use the update SimonIIRtg wich is optimised for gfx and ahi, yiha

Hehe, how strange, I discovered the Amiga port a few days ago... :P

I also found this site has the latest update (aswell as some updates and patchs for a few other Amiga games).

Simon 2 is an excellent game but the Amiga port is not so good. Buggy, missing musics (oh...) and I can't find anyway to have subtitles displayed (but maybe there is no sub?). On a counter part it support AHI (well AHI is needed in fact) and RTG wich is pretty cool.

I miss music also .. But it is a very funny game, and the Amiga port works perfect on my 060/50/rtg/prelude machine...

Rune Soft is old Epic-Interactive, wich were pretty active in the lasy years of the 90`s ...

i don´t have a cd rom connected to my miggy and just copied all the files in one drawer via ethernet. it works good but no sounds at all. does sound only work from the cd or can the game be fully hd installed? or is there absolutely no sound in the game?

I installed AHI and viola - speech and fx there! didn´t see the AHI drawer in the first place. but unfortunately there doesn´t seem to be any music at all

Yeah that's kinda lame :/

Weird thing is the musics *ARE* included in the game! There is just no fucntions to play them... You know what? Use the Amiga CD with ScummVM and you'll get voices, sfx... and music, yeah!

The ony problem is ScummVM only use english text data, wich mean the german, italian and french subtitles will not be displayed when the game is run from ScummVM, bummer.

So, is there no way to get music in this game?... zOOmba suggested ScummVM but I don't want to use that.

Also, I can't record some games. When I start the recording, the game pauses and I get only one frame. It seems to happen with all games requiring special things, like AHI... the same goes for Genetic Species, can't record that game either... same result.

I have tried all kinds of settings... none seem to make any differerence. So my conclusion is that it's because of AHI or something similar...

Any ideas?

I so want to play through this game aswell (and record) as I just finished Simon 1.

Is it in any way possible to get the music to play in Simon 2?.... playing it with no music is boring....

According to zOOmba, the music is there, but just not played... maybe someone could make a fast fix or something?

Well it's 100% garanted that the music are presents. Just to test, run the game with ScummVM and you'll be able to hear voice and musics at the same time. Now the musics are not audio tracks so maybe it's the reason the coder wasn't able to get them to work (maybe it was too tricky to have voices + musics on the Miggy at the same time... wich is weird since the game use AHI).

The Amiga doc even mention some shortcut to enable the music during game but it doesn't work. :/

Yeah maybe someone could be able to patch the game to play the music along with the voice, who know? If someone is interested to work on it and want the game just PM me and I'll upload it somewhere.

What a pain is the arris this game is proving. Finally got sound and speech only to find that I am now having problems saving in the game. I am using It on a real A1200.

When I click on save from the postcard, the graphics flash grey and the file requester dialogue box appears. After that, the game just hangs.

I'm using WinUAE and the update works. No more saving problems.
