workbench 2.05 is forgetting my screen mode settings

so I've finally got workbench 2.05. couldn't wait to use the screen modes cause they apeared in devs! unlike the adf's kicking about

Anyway, I selected hires interlace i think. got a good setting and fits the screen like a glove with my indi ecs in.

sadly, I then rebooted the amiga, put my old coverdisk in (amiga format, SEQUENCER ONE) and im gutted, the bottom is still trimmed off

so if the indi config tool can't do it, and neither can screen modes, I guess I have to get another flatscreen right?
the one im using now is a 17inch ctx s721a

by the way, I even saved the screen mode settings to the workbench disk

but is there not a way to flash a rom with it?

Prefs settings only apply to the disk they are saved to. If you boot from another disk, the settings which have been saved to that disk will be used, or default settings if none were saved.

would like to see some more advanced settings on the next ECS config tool. heigh squeezing would get alot of praise here!
