roxbox dialer 5.72, 6.68 arn't customiseable unless you know the special key code.
you can run a hex editor on it, but the max length/duration you can have is only 1000ms |

did a hex edit on my version of roxbox-5.72 which allows you to customozise the clear forward/seize/dialing/delay durations.

Do any of these still work with modern phone systems? Classic "single-frequency" control tones (things like the classic 2600 Hz tone hack) were gone from the West by the early 80s, while the last analog-signaled phone exchange in the US went offline in 2006? Are there still places in Europe that are using multi-frequency Bell codes or something?

Hello friends. I'm happy to see that are people interested ith these archaic(and nostalgic) amiga apps.
You can get some of the hack/phreak tools used on the 8 bit era here: www.8bitunderground.com If you like it, register and post something. Also, the admin, Lucidphreak is looking for apps that he don't have. Thanks and happi boxing!!! P.D. Ahhh those were the days... |

Yes they still work. There are still some international lines that use inband signalling. The hardest thing is finding the timings. Also looks suspicous if you are down at phone booth with a laptop and a head phone up to the phone handset. Also pisses of people waiting in line.
Fun times tho. Also international calls are cheap these days so main purpose is just for exploration . |

Phone booths? They have all but disappeared from rural England. Too expensive to maintain and collect now everyone has a mobile.

I have a "buckshot break" for Malaysia (via toll free number) that might still work, haven't tried it since 1995 though.
