Winuae and CF some errors
Hi. Im tryed today format my 64MB CF in USB ALLINONE reader under latest Winuae.
Downloaded HDINSTTOOL and that program show my CF as :SMSC 223 U HS-CD 1.95. HDINSTLTOOL work good, make parttion etc.. but when i want to SAVE CHANGES TO DRIVE i got error: ":SMSC 223 U HS-CD 1.95 Block zero write attempt but drive has one or more mounted PC partitions. Erease the drive or unomunt all PC partitions first. In WINUAE i have only DF0: WB.ADF and DF1:EXTRAS.ADF (with HDINSTTOOL) nothing other mounted HD in HARD DRIVE tool. Only my CF as HARD DRIVE as IDEO0 controller. How to do this to work fine ? My CF in reader is as G in windows and formated as FAT32 pls help me

yeah
 work perfect but have one problem - when formatting or after formatting im copying on my CF, card stopped working and i must restart WUAE.  Bad card ?

I see new problem.
When CF was formated as NTFS - i cant enable READ/WRITE opt in HARD DRIVE in WINUAE other DISKPART all work ok, but CF stopped at 1% when format or transfer. Work only QUICK FORMAT but each probe of copying some files on CF blocked WINUAE. Today im bought SANDISK 2GB and wating for delivery

You didn't confirm that you have set the correct max_transfer settings. It should be set to 0x1fe00, or you'll get random errors. This is done in hdtoolbox for each partition.
Also, I did the same thing the other day, and had winuae 2.3.2 fail to initialize my sd card after repartitioning it in hdtoolbox. When starting the quick format, it said 'initializing' forever. Loaded same config and install disk in winuae 2.3.0, and it worked well... Good luck! |

Interesting, I'm on WinUAE 2.3.2 here and also having problems just like this. Yep, just tried downgrading to 2.3.0 and the problem went away, looks like there's definitely a bug in 2.3.2 to do with adding hard drives.

It is a bug with the ide emulation. It appeared in 2.3.2 and is fixed in 2.3.3 beta 1.
