Looks nice, but Beauty is only skin deep...
Sort of reminds me a little of the BeOS look. Besides, OS4 is 'skinable', so should we be worrying about looks? If it's capable and has lots of software available for it, it might stand a chance. |

mmm these pics looks so good... I am starting to get more and more interested in MorphOS ..
I know its getting better and better all the time .. And I really need a new ppc machine here (argh that buggy 1200 with the blizzardvision is way too unstable ... ) I got a friend who got a machine, and altough its not perfect its getting there And im worried about OS4.0 cause they have so much work left, but ofcourse OS4.0 is my 1. choice ... exiting future (But is there room for 2 different machines mainly for amiga and x-amiga people .. ? Its gonna be hard ...) |

Of course ! Kriz .... but
... there will always be purists who will claim that only " certain unmodified models " belong .. However most Amigan,s tried to be forward thinking even if the company didn,t !

Actually these screenshots look as bad as QNX, I never liked that interface, and it's no good trying to copy it.
I preferred the cleaner, earlier system screenshots |

Skinnable a waste of resources? Aaaaggghhhh!!!!!
And with so many people complaining that Workbench wasn't visually configurable enough without lots of hacks (Magic Workbench, Newicons, visualprefs etc, etc, etc....ZZZZzzzzzz) Just because I agree with Akira **ONCE** in this lifetime, he goes and upsets me again! :kill |

I happen to hate MUI I liked Workbench as it was, and most of the visual hacks I used were small and not hogs. |

Well Akira, you know what they say... size isn't everything!
Never used MUI myself, but eight coloured icons really do look boring Have a good weekend folks (yes even you Akira!) |

why hate MUI ?? Sure it was a bit heavy on the machines when people had 020/030, but when you got a 060 or a ppc its really no problem ..
And I really love to make every software look the way I want it (buttons, backgrounds and so on...) I dont see what the problem with is (other than it really need a update .... But I think you get Mui 4. with morphOS, or ?) |

If you (a) have the spare money, and (b) are prepared to spend that money on an 060 or PPC and (c) if you can actually FIND a PPC board... then fine. MUI may or may not be good on those chips. Most people with Amigas seem to have 020 or 030 chips. Personally, whilst point (a) is not a problem, points (b) and (c) both receive negative answers. They are expensive and obsolete. You can't watch DVD movies on an 060, can they play flash movies or convert Mpeg/AVI movies at high speed? Nope! As for PPC boards... as rare as hen's teeth.
It's the same situation as Windows users have had for many years. Upgrade your processor and memory to run a newer, better O/S. At least in the IBM compatible world, processors are cheap! I may be upgrading my 030/50 to an 040/25 very soon, but only because I know somebody who is retiring their Amiga, complete with 040. MUI is unlikely to get a look in though. |
