Boulder Dash?
In the very early years of Amiga, I was in love with this game, "Boulder Dash". The disk I had came with a level editor (not sure if it's official). Many years later, a friend and myself disassembled the exe and started to fix it since it didn't work properly on A1200's. It was of course never released to the public but only used by myself and my closest friends.
The question I've got about this game is, what's the official name? The game doesn't come with a titlescreen. The levels on my version has been altered alot in 20 years or so. Does an original disk of this game exist somewhere? I've been checking out some adf-compilations but haven't found "my version" anywhere. If you want, you can check out my version here and see if you recognize it. There are issues with it saving highscores but I think playing the levels should work. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2590713/BoulderDashHack.adf I've attached a few screenhots aswell.. Same fonts and graphics have Diamond Caves http://hol.abime.net/5614 which is (I think) altered version of Emerald Mine http://hol.abime.net/hol_search.php?find=emerald

My version is obviously a commercial one. Kingsoft released Emerald Mine in 1987 (same year as my version). But I don't have a titlescreen and there's no statusbar aswell (compared to Emerald Mine). Strange..

Sadly I don't have the unmodified version available. I'll check with my friends if they still have it, but the odds are pretty low.
I remember the fixes were about writing data to absolute addresses, the original game had quite a few of those. The leveleditor was created by "headcrash" if I recall correctly so I doubt it was an official editor. |

Notice that most likely, all levels are modified on my disk (due to the included leveleditor ) and is not part of the original package.

@Asman:
Here's probably the "real" BoulderDash that's my version is based on. Included is also an adf with the level-editor. However, this once doesn't not entirely match my original version (different graphics). What a mess. Anyway, here's the adf's if you find them interesting: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2590713/BD.zip |
