MIA - F29 Special Mission

Hey guys.. noticed that this is listed as MIA, and I recently aquired the disk to my surprise in a batch of ami games.. I do not have the magazine however - anything required from me?

Please create an ADF of it and put it in the zone. Cheers. I tried the version on PlanetEmu with the full game and it works but brings up an in-game message "illegal copy", which is annoying.

It needs cracking. The special Mission disk is an executable file that replaces the main game code of F-29, and still does a Copylock protection check on disk 1.

Hence the 'illegal copy' message

I'm going to leave it for someone else, its a simple one to crack, but the mission is not worth the effort.

I would attempt to do it myself but I'm unfortunately I'm useless at Amiga stuff (even though I had an A500 for 1.5 years but hey, I was only 13 years old at the time)...

At the age of 21 I did an IT Desktop / Network engineering course. This was PC based though (obviously)...

My father is an old school programmer, I really should have followed in his footsteps...

I'm pretty good at batch files though

If you actually want to play it and check it out quite simple.

1). Use WinUAE with an Action Replay MKIII config.
2). Let the Zero mission disk load
3). When it asks you to put in F29 Disk 1, do so and continue
4). When you see the Mission briefing come up on screen with the wireframe map, press PAGEUP to enter Action Replay
5). Then type M 11A44
6). The first bit of data you will see is FF
7). Change the first FF to 00 and then press return
8). Game is now cracked for you to play

That simple to a master like yourself

I still have fond memories of my "real" Amiga days (now via WinUAE) and getting disks that were cracked by Fairlight + Galahad

The Fairlight image is legendary IMHO (plus Crystal / Skidrow / DefJam)

The final screen is just a promo.. the sequel was never released

Doesn't matter, there are loads of games in HOL that were never released.

Many games that only appeared in ads are in HOL

Thread necromancy aside, according to one of the Ocean bods (I think its Gary Bracey himself), F-29 Retaliator 2 was released...... its called TFX
