You died if you went to the loo without toilet roll

Seriously, I have very vague memories of a game my brother and I were very confused about forever ago. It was set in some kind of dystopian future, I think, and was a top-down view where you walked around, exploring, doing... stuff.

But what sticks with me is that you needed to go to the toilet at times, and if you didn't go I think you died. And then if you did go and didn't have toilet roll, it was also game over.

I'd love it if someone could remind me of what the hell this was, just to put my mind at ease. I'm not even sure I want to play it again, as I don't have fond memories of it...

Cheers!

It was similar to Dreamweb, but definitely wasn't that. It was probably earlier than that, and we definitely had a boxed copy of it because I bought it at the same time as Darius+.

Maybe going through this list of 1989-released Adventure games would help:

I thought about Future Wars, but that doesn't look at all like Dreamweb.

Not Future Wars, no. Had a look through a few years of adventure/RPGs in that list, nothing looks familiar.

The problem now is I start doubting my memory, hah!

It may be for IBM PC or Atari ST, not Amiga.

Definitely on Amiga - I didn't have an ST, and only got a PC in '98.

Not Pandora, no. Ugh, I doubt we're going to find this - I get the feeling it might have been a PD game sold in a box at my local games shop. Shall continue to go quietly insane about all of this...

An Amiga version of "Don't Shit Your Pants"?

Meanwhile, life is imitating art in 2020. People buying toilet paper like they're going to die without it.

I didn't respond when the thread was created as I think the details are possibly conflated, but as the thread is resurrected...

The only Amiga game I can think of that required going to the toilet was Leisure Suit Larry.

The dystopian bit reminds me of Fallout 2 and the outhouse, but I don't remember needing toilet paper.

An end-game scenario like that would certainly fit in with Sierra's modus operandi.

I still remember that. No toilet paper needed, but some TNT was. And the scene afterwards...

Since it's certain to be on Amiga, I'm going to have fun hunting for this one.

Looks to be a good game except the scrolling is a little odd (C64 port gone wrong?) and the names of items to purchase read strangely (By intent or not translated?).

I tried the C64 version next to find out if the names were spelled the same. However whenever I press the joystick button at the menu screen the games crashes to a Guru Meditation screen. A Guru Meditation screen on a Commodore 64? So I can't play the C64 version.

I can't find the Atari version anywhere. Not even a video. Where's the Atari version, anyone know?

If anyone is struggling to source toilet roll supplies, there are tonnes of them in Zool 2. Memetastic baby!

No, really. Check out the screenshots on HOL. Wizkid has potential too.

On the rare chance you find your target, it's near impossible to stop them. In the Amiga version, the left mouse button switches to your other clones. Not sure if this was intentional.

Decided to give the pen-and-paper RPG is was based/plagiarized on ("Paranoia") a read.

Sorry for the bump - I'm the original poster, old account was deactivated. Just wanted to pop in and say this is it. I've watched some videos and it's definitely this.

Thanks so much, you've cleared a lot of brainfog!
