Capacitor filters on Amiga 2000
Hi guys,
When cleaning the board on my 2000 last night I noticed 2 of the capacitor filters were disconnected from the main board. It looked like it was done deliberately as they were clean cut - no signs of corrosion etc. I've read this morning quoting "some unnecessary filter capacitors are removed to fix the character loss for HITEK type keyboards". I presume this means these???? Mine is a 4.3 board though and this states a 4.2 revision. Apart from that the 2000 is running fine - every key on the board/joystick/mouse works fine... Is this anything to worry about??? Thanks in advance |

Don't fix what isn't broken is a Great saying. As long as there is no danger of some part of the capacitor shorting two traces on the PCB there's no problem.

Just an update - found out that this was a quick fix for the Hitek keyboards indeed! It's also part of a tweak to make a rev 4.3 board into a rev 4.5 C910/C911 are cut...
