Question Amiga Forever 2006 coming very soon?

A day or two ago this week - feeling pretty wealthy for the time being - I decided to purchase a copy of Amiga Forever 2005 from Amiga Deals. Come today, and I'm told that they're currently out of stock of it at the moment but should have some more arriving sometime next week.

But what he added immediately afterwards was:

"The good news is you will be among the first to receive the brand new 2006 version."

This is intriguing. The official AF site has nothing about a new revision coming out for some reason? Anyone else got more info about it?

Where do you get that assumption from? I thought the new Another World revision was Windows-only.

Can't wait to pay for the Roms i already for once and can't free download because the company that makes Amiga Forever scours the internet closing down sites with both Kickstarts and Workbench, which we all already payed for as well, that are over a decade old.

I'm so excited.

Wow, and they also have a couple of Emulators you can grab for free on the Internet?

Fantastic.

Truly a great catch!

What a pointless diatribe from you two. Cloanto are the only people making the ROMs available legally. AmigaForever is a great product. Just because because it's based on free software doesn't mean that it has no value. They should be applauded for their efforts.

It is a bit of a shame though for the big Amiga enthusiants who can't flash their real Amigas with the roms if they wished to, due to their encryption.

But then I'm not complaining, I have the complete TOSEC set of roms, which is enough for me.

You could mount the encrypted rom in UAE and use transrom to get the unencrypted version

Well, having had AF2006 delivered to me a few days back, and having grew keenness on this supposed new Amiga version of Another World, I gave it a run immediately after installing.

To me it looks exactly the same as the original!!!! All they've appeared to have done really is replace the original game company logo with a Cloanto/AF splash screen, and nothing else! Certainly none of the graphical enhancements I was expecting that's for sure. I feel a bit cheated somehow. Oh well, it's just one part of this new AF package....
