"Heartland" game - concept
Hi Everyone,
Every month I'm going to create a concept of an 8-bit game that never made it for the Amiga, The first one is "Heartland". I remember fondly playing this on the Amstrad CPC464. "Heartland" Amiga Port (Concept only) 32 colours (plus copper background) for ECS and AGA. I have more info on my Patreon site. Don't worry you don't have to sign up... just have to wait a few days for public info to become available, I'm happy with this concept. ? https://www.patreon.com/KevinSaunders |

If I may write some criticism...
I think it looks a bit needlessy colourful. Seeing what other stuff you have done on the Amiga, I think you can do a lot better with the palette, Invent... |

It looks pretty good, the color choice has an Amiga-Feeling in it.

Hi Steril707, In some ways I probably agree with you, heavily influenced by the garish Amstrad colour limit (the game I played back before Amiga's). Reducing the saturation and shifting the hues would certainly improve things from the primary/secondary colours. Criticism is always good and appreciated.
Could always be a revision II, but I'd like to do a mockup of possibly C64 "Killerwatt" next Dunny I'd be very curious how an Amiga version would sound. |

Ah, okay. I have never seen the CPC version, to be honest. That explains the bright colours!
I guess my angle here is coming from the very monochrome Spectrum version, so probably I'd seen something more colour reduced as well. Anyway this is already some very nice work, I am looking forward to what this might become in future... |

Looks beautiful! But, if this is a 32 color mode, what about the water reflection? Isn't it a 64 color HAM mode instead? Or another trick?

Hi Illegalquantity, Thankyou, I'm sure the water effect can be done in 32 colours. Some interesting info on the subject here. https://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=106116

Looking good. I've yet to play the original. It reminds me of 'Everyone's a Wally', also on the C64, and another game that didn't come out on the Amiga.
