I use Tiny Launcher and it runs without running Workbench.so it gives me more ram.I use Amiga Boot Sellector too so I can boot Tiny Launcher or Workbench.

If the whdload install needs 1mb chip whereas game is ocs it means that whd slave should be updated
I recently upgraded cool spot install now it runs with 512k chip and 512k other instead of 1mb chip

I just bought the chip needed from here

to make my trapdoor expansion recognised as chipmem (to have 1Mb).

Now installed a clean wb3.1 installation and betterwb 4.0 on top of it.

Suggested here is tiny launcher but I think it still eats precious chipmem prior to loading a game.

I am gonna try using ag launch instead which is the bare minimum front end launcher for Whdload.

Any opinions on this?

Hi there. I have successfully mod the rev5 A500 to achieve 1MB of chipmem.

Now have another A500 rev 6a. So can you correct me. Is the 2MB chipmem achievable on rev5 and rev6a A500s? Or only on A500 + models (rev8)?

Of course but it's somewhat complicated. http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=31338 and then find the instructions.
Easier to do the 1 MB chip hack and find a Megachip to get the additional 1 MB.
