Amiga 600 in Amiga 1200 case?
Hello
I bought an Amiga 600 main board. (Sick of my A500+ playing up) But am having issues finding a case and keyboard for it. I know it will fit nicely in the 1200 case and extending the joyports isn't hard. (I've seen the A1200 in the A600 case, didn't provide much helpful info) What does concern me is hooking up the A1200 keyboard to the A600 motherboard, the ribbon slot is slightly smaller on the 600, is there a way to get the full keyboard (and Num pad) running? Someone suggested using an A500 keyboard in the A1200 case, but that could block off the LEDs (and only has 2) Wire it all up directly to the board in specific spots. I am up for a challenge, but nothing too crazy. (The indicator lights are not an issue, I think I may just have to switch some wires around.) Is the chip that controls the keyboard the same on the A600 and A1200? and how are they different? Thank you. |

Take an A500 keyboard controller board (single ribbon style), plug the A1200 keyboard ribbon into that and wire up the clk + dat + vcc + gnd + reset to the motherboard.
Airey36 has several for sale on the UK ebay. |
