Intuition based ProTracker?

I'm looking for a fun project to learn more AmigaOS 3.x programming and I was wondering if anyone ever did an Intuition/Workbench version of ProTracker 2.3.

I know about other trackers, I'm more interested in PT2.3 in particular.

(If no one ever did this, no need to tell me that it's a stupid idea... It would be just for fun).

If it is fun to you, it is not a stupid idea at all. As for anyone else doing it, there are no projects that i am aware of.

Thanks! I might start looking into it and see how far I get. The idea would to keep the exact 2.3 internals but to convert the UI.

If you plan on targeting version 3 or higher of the operating system, you could even base it on the Protracker datatype that came with early versions of the AHI audio drivers.

It was an adaptation of Protracker 2.3 player 68000 Assembly code for audio mixing and sound cards. All that was missing was the save routine and getter and setter methods in BOOPSI style for the editor to tie into.

Is for sure a great idea, now also many got gfx cards so it makes sense to run it all on the workbench screen
