What features are on Amiga Emulators
On some SNES and SEGA emulators I have you can take out backgrounds and sprites
Can the amiga emulators do any of that, it'd come in handy for my Jurassic PArk Amiga Guide??? :bounce |

You can't do that because the Amiga just doesn't work ike that. You can do that on a SNES, NES or Genesis because their graphic chip is based on layers. You can't do this on the NeoGeo either, since this one works with a tile based system.
I have no clue how the Amiga works, but I think it sure has no different layers for graphics to be laid on. And no, I don't mean parallax layers. Anybody with a bigger tech knowledge can tell me a bit about this? |

Well, most of the graphics you're gonna get in Amiga games will be Blitter Objects that are drawn direct to the screen.
So it's pretty impossible to take them out unless you hacked the game manually and took out the code that pasted them. Some games use sprites, in theory a feature could be implemented into WinUAE to remove these. |

I believe there was someone on the forum which were working on a way to rip graphics from a couple of amiga games. I clearly recall seeing an attachment with superfrog sprites frame by frame or something like that.

From what i remember having see on the SuperFrog Gfx ripper Website, it directly rip gfx from files, that means he know exactly how the gfx and colors are stored.
You can find a tutorial about how to rip gfx on amiga on the excellent Codetapper's site http://zap.to/action/ in the Icons section. @Codetapper: it should have include another part, do you remember ![]() |

I could of told you all of that, after all it was me who ripped the Superfrog grahics before I found out about TomCat's tool.
But I ressurected this post (after 3 years) because there was nothing of current interest for me, and I wanted to reply to something cause I was bored ! However - from the original post I presumed the user was requesting some sort of automated way to do this like on his other emu's. On Amiga the only thing that could possibly automatically ripped (keeping colour intact) is the sprites, not blitter object. |
