Action Replay MK I for A500 worth anything?
Hi,
just got a very yellowed A500 for spare parts and with it came the original Action Replay. I've no use for it so I was thinking of getting rid of it etc. There's also a utilities disk from Datel somehow related with the unit. Are these worth anyting, rare, useful for someone? |

Not particularly. I think people usually prefer the latest revisions, which goes for probably £10-£20 depending on condition.
I haven't seen many Mk I's for sale though, so they might either be rare or unwanted? |

It might be worth money for curiosities sake, but for actual usage, its a load of crap with its stupid custom disk format, and having to use the utils to copy the saved files to proper AmigaDOS formatted disks.
Action Replay 2 and 3 are worth the money because they are actually 100% fully useable as they are without any extra tools disk, and both save to standard AmigaDOS disks. However, the MK1 is very rare now as Datel offered a deal whereby if you traded in your old cartridge, you got a discount on the MK2, so most were taken out of circulation. |

Ok, thanks. Some interested parties are already appearing so at least I won't have it lying around.
What do you guys reckon it's worth? More/less than MK2/3? Didn't find any MK1s for sale. |

I can ofcourse only speak for myself, but I wouldn't have anything to do with the MK1 ever again. I threw a fully functional one in the garbage while cleaning out for moving to another city and I don't miss it for one second. If I had one today I would probably give it away for free or postage.
Then again, since I'm suspecting many cared for their MK1's just as little as I did they might have become rare these days. I got my MK3 boxed for a tenner right here on EAB, if that's anything to go by. Edit: If I were you I would put it up for auction on eBay starting low and see where it ends up. You could advertise the auction on various forums to attract more fish so to speak. |

Well, that would certainly show its value and I might just do that had I not promised to a couple of people that they could buy it. :/
