WHDLoad client for bouncing ball game Pop-Up
Hi,
it would be really great if someone had time and knowledge to make a WHDLoad install for the game Pop-Up. Here's the HOL link: http://hol.abime.net/1109 Some years ago somebody started an attempt already but it seemingly led to nowhere: http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?p=815594 20 years ago I used to play this a lot and would love to give this a new try on my CD32. If anybody would start this I can provide an disk image of the original disk and other help which is needed. PS It exists a cracked version of this game. Once I got this started on my A1200 with relokick. The real cool thing there is, there was a crack intro in which you could select the beginning level. This is unfortunately not provided by the original game. There you have always to start in level 1. Maybe a future WHDLoad installer could have a starting level option too? |

I would like to ask if in the meantime any of you WHDLoad devs would maybe take the time to write an install for this game?
I could create and send you an raw image of the original disk if that would help. |

You should put the image in the zone for backup, then maybe some will grab it also

Like kriz said please create an image of the original and upload it It will be preserved on the file server and hopefully one day somebody will write a WHDLoad slave for it.

Yes, I've created an adf, zipped it and put it in the zone.

Thank you I've added it to the file server in 'Non TOSEC Games/Disk'.

I've got a working patch. This game has some rather quirky code! I've stripped out the few OS calls it does (mostly the game trashes the OS, but still uses it very slightly to get started). It fails outright on any 32-bit memory machine due to misuse of an address register. That was fixable at least.
There's a fair bit I still want to do - particularly rewriting a rather gnarly loading routine. But I might be able to send a beta your way soon. |
