Best options for A1200 IDE Performance

Hi,

I have an A1200 with an 060, OS 3.1.4.1, sandisk ultra SD using the on-board IDE and my IDE speed is around 1.3mb/s. What options are there for improving storage speeds?

Cheers,

Cheers,

I get something like 2,5mb with Blizzard 68060 accelerator.

I use the scsi kit with my b1260 via an acard scsi to ide Bridge and get just over 7 compared to around 2 to 2.5 on the onboard ide but that actually with and ide express. I think fast ata adapter can add a bit but not up to the scsi speed.

I think (but am not an expert) that the fastest route for you but also most expensive and awkward would be the scsi kit onto the blizzard than a mk6 sdtoscsi adapter.
After that probably a fast ata adapter (never used one)
After that probably something like an idefix express but be aware that with my b1260 I never got above.2.5 or so because I think there is an issue where the b1260 is a limiting factor.
I probably have a thread here or on amibay where I asked similar questions a few years ago which documents my adventure down this road.

I would check that you have the last Phase5 cpu libs installed else you will get notably slower chipram/motherboard access causing lower than normal ide speeds. my own 040/25 gets around 1.8 mb/s so i would expect a little more with an 060.

An 030/50 willl max out the internal ide at around 3 mb/s without any special ide hardware. (with eide99/idefix/turboide/speedyide patches)
