PS/2 keyboard to Amiga 1000 via series of converters?
I recently got a hold of an Amiga 1000 sans keyboard and want to figure out a way to get a PC PS/2 keyboard connected to it. I have a keyboard converter for my Amiga CD32 that, as I understand it, uses the same mini DIN connector as the Amiga 4000(T?).
Mine looks similar to this: Looking around online, I can find a bunch of Amiga 2000/3000/4000 DIN to Amiga 1000 converters like this: Only problem is my CD32 keyboard adapter won't fit this. Would it be possible to use the adapter on the Amiga 1000 if I pick up a DIN to MiniDIN converter such as this: My concern is that would be 3 adapters working in concert. I'm fairly certain most of what would be going on would just be shuffling pins around, but I want to see what others think before I start needlessly buying adapters. It would work with all that adapters, but better way is just making one with A1000 conn-PS2 keyboard.

Hmm, I would still need the PS/2 to Amiga converter even if the A1000 with Mini-Dim connection right? I'd like to be able to use the PS/2 to Amiga converter on both my A1000 and the CD32, so I wouldn't want to cut up it's connection to attach an A1000 connector to. Am I misunderstanding you or can I wire up a PS/2 keyboard connection straight to the A1000? And if so, do you happen to have the pinout? |

The protocols don't match. IMO you ought to just chain the adapters together, there's no harm but it looks a bit ugly.

This is what I had assumed, thanks! One last question RE: A1000, right now the original PSU works, but I want to eventually replace it with a pico PSU inside. I actually have two of these atx adapters: http://www.ianstedman.co.uk/Amiga/de...x_adaptor.html I have the "big box ATX adapter" and the one specifically marked "pico PSU adapter." The big box one says it's suitable for the A1000, the Pico PSU adapter doesn't mention the A1000 at all in the product description. The Big Box Adapter seems to be specifically for a full sized ATX psu, not necessarily a pico PSU. so my question: Can I use the big box adapter with a pico PSU, or, if not, can I use the pico psu adapter with an A1000? |

Both should work.
