Amiga 2000 rev 6.3 with a2620
Hello,
I've a a2000 rev 6.3 with a a2620 with 2Mb installed, the problem is that sometimes it doesn't boot, sometimes boot perfectly. The problem disappear if i remove the a2620, so the problem must be that. Is there someone who had this problem and can give some hints ? Thank you |

Could be hundreds of reasons. What happens when it doesn't boot?
1) Broken / dying hard drive? Replace the hard drive, re-install Workbench and all A2620 related files. Does it still fail to boot? 2) Capacitor problems (either on the motherboard, PSU or the A2620)? I'd start by measuring the voltage of the PSU and look to replace the capacitors in the PSU if anything isn't right. Then send the motherboard to Amigakit for recapping. |

Check the +5 Volt supply on the mobo (and A2620 if possible) as it probably drops when you install the A2620. You might also want to clean the 86 pin edge connector and re-seat any socket mounted chips (A2620 PALs in particular).
Good luck! ![]() |
