Becuase I'm still writing them and obviosly people reply and then I thought the story would get lost and end up being too long to read in one go in a single post.

I can always start a blog elsewhere and then update a single post with links if thats better?

Steve.

No, I meant why it had to be single threads with a 'part x' at the end, not one huge post Just trying to understand why you want this to be in four parts instead of one continuous thread

Edit : Read on here

Becuase I thought it would be impossible to locate each part of the story if they were spread out on different pages throughout the thread. Look at peoples project threads for example, if you wanted to read them front to back it would be impossible for all the posts in between they get 100's of pages long.

I thought keeping each chapter in the first post of a new thread would be the best way to avoid that.

If you have a better suggestion let me know as I don't want to clutter up the forum, just thought people would like to hear my story.

Okay, I see. Well, link to your next part at the end of the previous one. Check my last post in this thread about what I mean (the 'open new window' would be the same anyway)

Ok, that works for me, did you want to merge the 4 threads, if that's possible? Then I can add the links. (As a former forum moderator I suggest closing the threads first so they don't get updated during the merge and re-open at the end)

BTW, sorry for the extra workload!

Well, they are already merged (this is the merged one ). No worries about the workload, but if everybody would pick up the idea of splitting their threads like that, we'd have a pretty mess here soon. Not saying you shouldn't share it here, but a blog is indeed a lot better suited to present this form of info

Nice story so far Steve. Being a forum mod myself I find it easier to merge the corresponding posts into the first one. Then you can just update the first post Steve with a bump.

Only problem is the 15 (or 20) picture limit here... You could start the thread with dummy posts, but then you would never know how much space you need. There's a reason why it's called 'thread' afterall

Thanks guys, links added now to 1-3

Hope this format works better for the site, by the way I know I used huge pics, these are the ones I took at the time and I'm working from those to tell the story. It would be a nightmare to resize and re-upload them all now with a smaller size.

The other option is thumbnails and links but I hate getting redirected to a new site for each picture and then pop-ups from those sites!

Anyway, hope this is better now.

Steve.

I think that should work There's a why to add the link, so that it doesn't only show the post, but the thread starting with that post. Once you've clicked on the single post, click on the thread title in the upper right and voila, you have the link to the post within the thread I hope this makes sense...

Thanks TCD

For those of you just coming back to the thread and a bit confused by the merger we're up to part 4 and it starts HERE

Or if you've got lots of time to kill or its the first time you've seen this post you can read from post no. 1 and follow the links at the end of each part

Enjoy!

Steve.

Should've kept my Blizzard 1260 (unless you got that later). From bitter experience, I know that Apollo cards are shite. That Blizzard was a replacement for an Apollo 1260 that never worked properly.

As far as my story goes we're up to about April/May 2010

As it goes I don't have the the Blizzard 1260 anymore as I since ugraded to BPPC

But don't want to spoil anymore of the story!

Blizzard 1260 is an awesome card though

You've got serious problems Steve:

Amiganitis is the worst disease one can have, but is on the same time the most rewarding one.

Nice thread keep it up!
