CF Card write protected

Have a Delock and Transcend CF2PCMCIA16 reader here on the A600. Cards from Maxflash over Intenso to Transcend. All cards work on the internal IDE as hard disk.
All cards appear in the prepcard with both adapters and display timing and size. But none of the card can prepped as disk, all report 'card is write protected'.
None of the cards have a write lock slider, nor the adapters.

Have an one old 128MB Cytronix that is the only one working in both adapters. How to prep these cards? Formatting them with UAE wont help.

Prepcard only works with SRAM PCMCIA cards. Not flash/CF cards.

Seems that specially Transcend cards are very problematic, from 256MB/80 to 2GB/133 there is nothing else than 'CF0: no disk inserted'. Shopped some older and smaller cards from various companies to check for their compatibility.
Transcend work fine with an IDE sled, if maxtransfer is limited to 0xfe00.
